Education and Training Programs
The CORE Center provides valuable education, training and consultation on HIV/AIDS to medical professionals and the community.
- The CORE Center serves as a training site for medical professionals in the care and treatment of people with HIV and other infectious diseases.
- Innovative peer education program trains people with HIV infection to assist patients at the CORE Center and participate in outreach.
- HIV/STD prevention and education efforts range from outreach in affected communities to our partnership with the City Colleges of Chicago.
- The Resource Center, accessible to all patients, has computers with Internet access and print/electronic health education materials.
Peer Educator Program
Consumer involvement has been a priority that predates the opening of the CORE Center and continues today with the Peer Educator program, and the Consumer Advisory Board. The goals of these on-going trainings include keeping up-to-date on the ever changing and advancing world of HIV care, research and prevention initiatives.
